Larry YorkLarry York is the second generation of the family owned business, The Music Store, started by father Paris York and Bill Harris in 1972. Larry graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1972. He enlisted in the USAF shortly thereafter as a trombonist and bassist in the “Band of the Oil Belt” at Sheppard AF Base in Wichita Falls, TX. In 1975 he was transferred to Lackland AFB in San Antonio with the “Band of the West” until his discharge in 1977. That is when Larry started his career at The Music Store. In 1981, Paris and Larry purchased Harris’ half of the company and continue to run the day to day operations along with the third generation York, son Adam. Larry serves as its President. Larry continues to play music as the bass player in the popular rock n roll revival band, The Bop Cats. The band plays private parties and festivals across Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. See their web site at www.TheBopCats.org. Larry is married to high school sweetheart Elizabeth Silvers (Liz) and they have two children, daughter Amie Parsons and husband Scott of Salina, OK. and son Adam York with wife Misty of Broken Arrow. Larry and Liz also have seven grandchildren: Zachary Parsons, Mary Parsons, Sarah Parsons, Jon Parsons, Abbie Parsons, Joseph York and Addilynn York. |
